Malka + Portús arquitectos
Is a young architectural practice founded in Madrid in September 2010, by Lionel Malka and Juan Portús.
The main philosophy of the firm is that of providing a satisfactory service to the client, based on the respect and trust of both parties, to be able to help the clients reach their main objectives., in time and within their budget.
Although the practice has done projects in all sectors, from residential, to offices, the main interest of the firm remains in retail projects of all sorts and scales.
The experience of the 2 founding partners in small scale retail spaces, such as Sephora shops, but also in large shopping centres, allows the firm to fulfil all the needs of retail clients.
The scope of the work the firm has done so far ranges from concept design for retail spaces, to site control and supervision, for others.
Lionel Malka -
Partner
Born and bred in Madrid, with French family background, Lionel spends his school years at the Lycée Français de Madrid.
He moves to London where he studies architecture at the Architecture Association, where he obtains his AA dipl as well as his RIBA part 2 degree.
He returns to Madrid where he starts his professional career as a qualified architect, first with AFA arquitectos dealing with AMC multicinemas operations in Spain.
He joins RTKL where he develops his work as design architect, participating in various large scale retail projects.
He leaves RTKL to join L35 arquitectos, where he will participate actively in the design, and constructions of large retail projects in Spain, Morocco, Poland and Romania, but also in the firm’s life and strategy through his role as junior partner.
Juan Portús -
Partner
Born and bred in Madrid, Juan spends all of his formative years in Madrid where he graduates as an architect from the ETSAM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid).
He joins the architectural practice TAU where he develops various bank branches for Caja de Madrid.
He joins UGC España, where he will develop his professional activity as technical director for Spain, supervising the design and construction of 6 multiplex cinema projects in Spain.
He sets up his own practice, where he will develop retail projects for Sephora, Embassy or el Corte Inglés, both in the role of designer and architect, supervising all the construction and bedding processes.
Maria López -
Architect
Born and bred in Madrid, Maria recently graduated form the ETSAM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), as an architect.
She joined M+P arquitectos in April 2013, and has been an active collaborator, both in the design department, as well as the construction management department, supervising the execution of various Sephora stores all over Spain.
She is currently a partner in the graphic design firm Ondarcy, designing and selling graphic design objects and illustration.
MARIA Elena Rosa -
Architect
Born and bred in Jaen, Maria Elena recently graduated form the ETSAM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), as an architect.
She joined M+P arquitectos in January 2014, and has been an active collaborator, both in the design department, as well as the construction management department, supervising the execution of various Sephora stores all over Spain.
She is currently a partner in the graphic design firm Ondarcy, designing and selling graphic design objects and illustration.
